From the description it seems suspiciously similar to AC3. And considering how nobody liked Assassin’s Creed 3 and Connor is widely considered one of the worst AC protagonists, I’m glad this idea got canned. Better no game than a game that makes black protagonists look shitty.

Honestly I think the complaining about the game would be our own people. Game studios have attempted this before and they all either get shutdown before we ever hear about it or completely bomb on launch ripped apart on social media.
We need more games like south of midnight. Not games constantly remind us of the enslavement of our people.

Very well said. I’m sick that we could have had this game. For so many reasons he mentioned I see why they wanted to make it despite the certain controversy….but I also understand why they decided against it. Even Elon’s bitch ass commented on Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This game would have easily been attacked by the current U.S. administration of white supremacists. I really want to see the concept art and notes they had so far. My question is has any other publisher/studio ever even considered making a game like this??

What this says to me louder than anything is that they KNOW racism exists. They KNOW the whole truth has not been told. They KNOW there was and remains to be great injustice toward foundational Black Americans. They are willing to participate in the erasure of truth and justice.
